Sorry Friends!

So I have really been missing my blog friends. I'm sorry I haven't written to you guys or posted anything new in a long time. We sold our house and we're currently in a packing frenzy. We haven't found a new home yet so we are going to stay in a townhome that my Father-in-Law owns for the time being. I'll be back as soon as the dust settles!

Salsa Dance!

"Salsa," as she is affectionately known, went to her very first dance class today. We had to outfit her with tap shoes, ballet slippers and a few irresistable dance outfits! After all these years of enjoying being a football/basketball/soccer Mom it is SO fun to have a change of pace. Her teacher is Miss Kim and Sasha loves her already.

It's Quiet Around Here!

I can't believe Summer is over! We had so much fun. It just seems like the school year came waaaay too quickly! This year Brooklyn, Quincy and Roan are all in school for a full day. Sasha, Hudsy and myself are currently starring as the Three Musketeers.
Every morning I watch this neighborhood bike brigade head off to school. It feels so weird that my house is ever so quiet. I miss my boys. But I can not lie, I do LOVE having a clean house...at least until 3:30 :)

The always brilliant Kate Moss!

Here are the rest of our family pictures taken by Dan and Katie. I've been meaning to post them for a while now but I just haven't had much time to blog lately! Either way, I am absolutely thrilled with how they turned out! I think these are the very best pictures they have ever taken of my brood. I love the location and the colors are so pretty! My fellas!

Quincy, Roan, Hudson, and Brooklyn

Roan (6)

Brooklyn (10)

Sasha (4)

Hudson (1 1/2)

I love this picture of Hudsy! It kind of shows his mischievious side.

I can never decide if I love the b&w more or the color shots! Both beautiful!

Is it really possible that my oldest child is this big??? Brooklyn looks so huge in this picture!

Quincy (8)
Quincy is just too cool for school!

Brook and I don't normally take a good picture together. But we both really liked this one.
Even though Katie is one of my best friends I know I'm not biased! These pictures are amazing! Thank you Dan and Katie !

"B" is for Big

Brooklyn, or B as we call him, turned 10 over the weekend. All he wanted for his birthday this year was a really nice suit for church. Brook offered him a new bike, since his is so thrashed, but he declined. He really wanted a suit. So I got a babysitter and he and I headed out shopping just the two of us. We outfitted him with a suit, 2 new ties, a nice dress shirt, a belt and pair of shoes ( a men's size 7 by the way!)
I was very impressed with his selection's. Even though he's only 10 he has excellent taste! This charcoal gray suit has a very subtle alternating blue and white pin stripe. He looked ever so sharp at church today!

Brooklyn is very considerate of others. He always wants to lend a hand in any way possible. He is very generous with his brothers and sister. Brooklyn effortlessly shows love and affection for the people around him. When I was unpacking everyone from our Bear Lake trip I was delighted to discover that he had taken his scripture's with him. I can already tell that he has a lot of integrity by how thoughtful he is about his choices. I love having Brooklyn for my oldest child. He sets such a wonderful example for his younger siblings. I am so very grateful for the massively important role he plays in our family. He is an absolute delight as a child and a friend!

The First of Many, I'm sure...

We have had many trips to the ER for stitches. But this was our first trip for a break. Luckily, in Brooklyn's case, it was a fractured elbow. Either way, it was a pretty bad fracture. Bad enough that he'll be in a full cast for 4 weeks. So long summer!

This injury comes just in time for our yearly trip to Bear Lake. Having a waterproof cast was an absolute must!

Brooklyn, Quincy (pretending his arm is broken too), and Sasha. I'd like to say that I hope my boys have learned their lesson about rough housing but I seriously doubt it!

Quality Time = Dessert

Brooklyn, Quincy and I have been reading The Candy Shop War this summer. We invited Grandma to join in on the fun. We've been reading 1 chapter every night since the start of summer. Some nights the boys would beg me for 2 chapters. Sometimes I would give in and sometimes I wouldn't :)We finished the book about 2 weeks ago. As promised we went to Mimi's Cafe for desserts and a book discussion.
This was such a fun opportunity to spend some time with my older boys who are just growing up so fast! They've become so self-sufficient and independent that I find that I focus a lot of my energy on the little ones. This book gave me the chance to give them my undivided attention. I loved every second of it!
